75% of ride-hailing drivers use fake licences – DVLA CEO

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) says 75 per cent of the driving licences it has checked among drivers operating on ride-hailing platforms in Ghana were found to be fake. The Chief Executive Officer of the DVLA, Julius Neequaye Kotey, disclosed this on Atinka TV on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, describing the situation as a serious concern for road safety and the regulation of the ride-hailing industry.
